How to Serve Caviar
Caviar deserves ceremony — but never complication. At CAVR, we believe that serving it well is about honoring purity, texture, and balance. Whether you're sharing it at home or presenting it to guests, the details matter.
Serving Suggestions
While the highest-grade caviar is best enjoyed on its own, a few refined accompaniments can enhance the experience without overpowering it.
Pair with:
-
Blinis or lightly toasted brioche
-
Crème fraîche, unsalted butter, or soft-boiled egg
-
Mild garnishes like chives or shaved radish — never anything too acidic or overpowering
For purists, a mother-of-pearl spoon and nothing else is all that’s needed.
Order of Tasting
If serving multiple types, begin with the most delicate and progress toward the bold.
Think:
White Sturgeon → Osetra → Sevruga
This lets the palate evolve — each bite more expressive than the last.
Storage & Prep
Keep caviar cold, but never frozen. Serve it over crushed ice in its tin, or delicately spooned into a chilled glass or ceramic dish. Use only non-metallic utensils to preserve the clean, briny integrity of the pearls.
